TEETHING

hello! yesterday was really a very complicated day. imagine my 3 kids are teething have teething pains. my eldest bianca has her premolars and cuspid erupting she had fever at school, my son a five year old has his first molars erupting too, and my baby 9 mos old has her upper front teeth erupting too... i was very worried yesterday. and to add that my baby had 2 shots of vaccine yesterday....omg. i gave them paracetamol to ease the pain. and treated them with ice cream...oh its so hard evernthough im a dentist when it comes to my kids it makes me so helpless.Easing Teething
Whenever your child begins teething, you may notice that your child seems to drool more, and seems to want to chew on things. For some babies, teething is painless. Others may experience brief periods of irritability, and some may seem cranky for weeks, experiencing crying episodes and disrupted sleeping and eating patterns. Teething can be uncomfortable, but if your baby seems very irritable, contact your child's doctor.
Although tender and swollen gums could cause your baby's temperature to be a little higher than normal, teething, as a rule, does not cause high fever or diarrhea. If your baby does develop a fever during the teething phase, it is probably due to something else and your child's doctor should be contacted.
Here are some tips to keep in mind when your baby is teething:
Wipe your baby's face often with a cloth to remove the drool and prevent rashes from developing.
Give your baby something to chew on. Make sure it's big enough so that he or she can't swallow it and that it can't break into small pieces. A wet washcloth placed in the freezer for 30 minutes makes a handy teething aid - just be sure to wash it after each use. Rubber teething rings are also good, but avoid the ones with liquid inside because they may break. If you use a teething ring, be sure to take it out of the freezer before it becomes rock hard - you don't want to bruise those already swollen gums!
Rub your baby's gums with a clean finger.
Never tie a teething ring around a baby's neck, as it could get caught on something and strangle the baby.
If your baby seems irritable, acetaminophen may help - but always consult your child's doctor first. Never place an aspirin against the tooth, and don't rub whiskey on your baby's gums.

Fabulous Blog

I got this from mem.

Thanks mem!

an achievement

It's better to cross the line and suffer the consequences...
than just have stared at the line forever...
having done nothing and achieved nothing.
I am very grateful for this quote, received this from a friend this morning...
it helped me a lot, since my hubby is not here i am asking my tito to drive us to the clinic and back to our house...i am no expert in driving since i always relied on my husband...and because i have 3 kids in the car i really need someone to drive us...athena my baby is always crying everytime i drive. now that i have a yaya i'm in charge of the wheel. i was a little bit nervous and excited...but athena was very frightened with me driving and with her new yaya...she cried starting from the clinic until our street...hahahha and when i was enterng our parking she suddenly stopped crying and fell a sleep...hahahha! thank God we managed.

how to encourage good study habits

Step 1:Be a good role model. If you sometimes bring work home with you or you're taking a course yourself, your child will learn your habits. Make 'em good!
Step 2:Help your child organize things. For example, the protractor and compass belong in the math binder, sheet music in the violin case.
Step 3:Help him or her organize space. The kitchen table is for eating; your child's desk is for studying.
Step 4:Help your child organize time. Establish a routine for completing schoolwork. It doesn't have to be the minute your child walks in the door; just agree on a set time and stick to it.
Step 5:Minimize distractions. Thirteen-year-old wisdom notwithstanding, geometric proofs are not better retained when learned concurrently with loud music, "South Park" and a telephone receiver at one ear.
Step 6:Check your child's work. Every night is unnecessary, but check it often enough that he or she knows you might - and that you care.
Step 7:Insist that sloppy or careless work be redone, but don't correct errors; teachers need to know what students don't know.
Step 8:Give praise whenever possible and appropriate. A sincere expression of pride in your child's academic accomplishments can go a long way toward making studying a habit.

pls study kenneth.

It's exam week once again and my little boy is having a hard time...oh my God its already may 3 and the exam is on the 5th till the 7th...i dont know if i'm not an effective teacher...i really want to cry yesterday after a few words in reading he jumps and sighs and roll, huhuhu!!! with a handful of domestic work and 3 kids its hard to be patient in teaching him...i hope i would be more patient today. Here is a site to help us parents in improoving their study habits

life goes on

It's really hard to be alone taking care of my 3 kids, my hubby is at the states right now...i hope everything turns well with him there, biancanow and kenneth are coping nicely but keeps bugging me when we are going to follow their dad. athena on the other hand is a little bit confused...she keeps ol looking at the doors is her daddy is either in the bathroom or in the kitchen...and her sleeping pattern changed a lot before she would sleep after taking a bath in the morning, but now she would just look around and play and ask that she be cuddled...sigh! and in the afternoon she would sleep from 12pm to 3pm, then play and have milk then sleep again...but now she would just take a nap a short nap in the morning then in the afternoon she wont sleep...oh baby i hope you would be ok soon...life should go on i told her daddy is looking for job so we can follow him there and she just smiles at me...we miss you daddy.
